Do I need a gallery to sell on Artsy?
For an independent artist, representation by a participating gallery is the relevant route to Artsy. Studio 54 Fine Art becomes the professional gallery contact for accepted works. We prepare titles, dates, media, dimensions, edition details, prices and availability in a consistent format and maintain the relationship around enquiries.
Artsy for artists should be understood as a visibility and credibility channel, not a guaranteed sales engine. Collectors compare many works. Clear positioning, excellent images, realistic prices and a recognisable practice make it easier for an artist to be understood and remembered.
Preparing an Artsy-ready artist profile
A strong Artsy profile begins before any artwork is uploaded. Your biography should establish context without exaggeration. Your statement should explain the ideas and methods behind the work. Images should be colour-accurate, high-resolution and free from distracting backgrounds unless they intentionally show scale in an installation.
Each artwork needs a reliable record: title, year, medium, dimensions, framed status, unique-work or edition information, availability, location and retail price. Artsy membership costs and terms
Studio 54 Fine Art’s Artsy membership is €50 per month for a 12-month representation programme. Artists who also want Artnet representation can select the combined programme at €100 per month. The standard sales split is 60% to the artist and 40% to the gallery on a completed sale.
The artist retains ownership until a sale. Platform standards apply to every submitted work, and replacement may be requested where imagery, information or suitability does not meet requirements. Additional promotional opportunities may include curated selections, newsletters, social features or campaigns, but placement is based on suitability and is not guaranteed.
What happens when a collector enquires
The gallery confirms availability, agreed retail price, condition, edition information and location. If the enquiry progresses, packing, shipping, insurance, customs and payment arrangements are agreed for that transaction. The artist must be able to provide accurate information quickly and prepare the work safely.
Professional enquiry handling protects both the artist and the collector. It avoids inconsistent prices, unclear availability and informal commitments made across multiple channels. The gallery provides one accountable route from interest to a possible sale.
Is Artsy the right route for your work?

Shipping is assessed when a sale develops. Location, packed dimensions, weight, value, destination and customs requirements affect the quotation. Artists should retain suitable materials or know a specialist who can prepare the work. Accurate packed information prevents delays and protects margins.
