The artist
Practice and perspective
Miriam Wilson is the Irish artist behind ROSC ART, a photographic practice based in Luxembourg. Working from meals and dishes created by chefs, she transforms culinary colour, texture and composition through digital abstraction.
Her work considers how a sensory experience that disappears can acquire a lasting visual form. Fine-art archival printing extends that transformation, carrying the memory of a meal into a medium made for sustained looking.
The name ROSC refers to an Old Irish word for a short poem and to the idea of a poetry of vision. Wilson uses it to frame a practice that asks viewers to recognise artistic composition beyond familiar studio disciplines. Her subjects include culinary work by Cyril Molard, Mathieu van Wetteren, René Mathieu and Santi Taura.
The specific origins of individual images remain part of their identity. Lunar Crater emerges from Molard’s foie gras with lentils and buckwheat, while Nude began with van Wetteren’s Code Nacre at Apdikt. Studio 54’s Luminous collection presents these transformations as independent abstractions. Small works are offered as Fujiflex high-gloss prints, with larger versions on fine-art pigment paper mounted to Dibond beneath acrylic glass. Her 2025 Atmosphere catalogue pairs works with the chefs and dishes that inspired them.
