The artist
Practice and perspective
Tigran Sargsyan is an Armenian painter, born in 1988, whose work focuses on the landscape of his homeland. Mountains, lakes, rivers and open valleys provide a changing field of observation. His contemporary impressionist practice follows shifts in light and atmosphere, moving between the clarity of daylight and the softer conditions of mist and dusk.
Painting on location is an important part of his working method. Sargsyan participates in international plein-air symposia, including Kazakhstan in 2022 and Tavush, Armenia, in 2025. His gallery-submitted Artsy biography identifies him as a member of the Artists’ Union of Armenia and records more than a decade of exhibition activity.
Solo presentations include the House of Moscow Cultural and Business Center in Yerevan in 2021, Zvartnots International Airport in 2022, the State Museum of Nature of Armenia in 2023 and Pyunik Art Gallery in 2024. In Grandma’s house, a 2022 oil on canvas presented by Studio 54 Fine Art, a rural winter scene is built through textured brushwork and contrasts between cool snow and warmer buildings and trees.
